Favorite Etsy Artists #2 of 10: SugarLust
I love these vinyl bags from SugarLust! I admire anyone who can skillfully work with vinyl...and the cutouts are so sweet.

Borders, Ready Made, and Vintage Board Games
This was an awesome first-day-of-the-weekend!
I completed 2 custom orders and mailed off my first etsy sales this week. Thank you to my supportive family for giving me my first 3 sales!
1) One of the owners of the very cool Yachats shop Raindogs suggested that I check out the magazine ReadyMade, which I had never heard of (bad grammar, I know). I found it at Borders today and I am loving that magazine. Yes I am.
2) Also, thanks to Borders: a slew of Paperchase goodies. DARN that Paperchase and at the same time, I exhault Paperchase. AHHHH! Below, their vexingly low-priced "mag bags" and one of their new lines of paper products called "Pet Chopz." It is very cute indeed. The bags are cute, but the vinyl on the straps cracks over time (painful) and there are no pockets like MY bags. But still, they are very desirable and functional.
3) An update on the vintage game collecting:
Today, a 1956 Chutes and Ladders game arrived. Check flickr for photos of the growing collection and what the parts become when I dismember them!
4) I discovered Re-Ment and Cram Cream. Lord help me.
5) Finally, after much deliberation and MANY hours of searching, I have selected six fabrics for fall bags. Amy Butler and Robert Kaufman are 2 of the familiar (to me) designers in this bunch. Also included are Michael Miller and Alexander Henry. I am quite pleased with the final selections! Here is a peek at the fabric swatches:

A Contest, A Bag, and Some Other Things
Nation(s),
I've entered my first crafty contest. I found out about it yesterday morning, whipped out my entry in the afternoon/evening/wee hours, and sent my submission to Craftershock just a few minutes ago. The winner will be featured in the first issue of their print magazine. It was fun to make a bag for a new purpose. It would be SO DEAD SEXY to win, but I haven't won anything since the 3rd grade, so I'm not holding my breath. The joocee bag is now in the shop, and is getting some admiration on Craftster, so that is quite satisfying. (I've promised the Craftster community a tutorial later this week.) I'm so starved for crafty-tention that I'm high on the love. Can you tell that I love my Bubble Gum Tote Bag? Yes, I do. It's "puke-tacularly cute" (according to a fellow Craftster-er).
Here it is featured on the "Hot New Projects From All Categories" on the Craftster homepage. [note: This is not something to get all that excited about, but I'm pretending it is.]
Also, as promised, a few bits of improved resin. I've got the candy hearts down, no problem. The other stuff is progressing. I have some experimental molds ready and since there's no "EasyCast" to be found in the tri-county area, I'll be using the toxic death cloud formula "CastinCraft" outside tomorrow morning before the temperature rises above 80C which is when I think the stuff spontaneously combusts.
Ah, yes...the Goodwill Blue Hangar (Hanger?) visit with my friend Stacey was also a success. Again, for $14 I couldn't possibly list all the treasures (mostly because they are still in my trunk due to heaviness/laziness). Here's a panorama of what we're dealing with. I wish that I had considered the composition of my photos before taking them because they really look like we're digging in a giant indoor dumpster. But it really is awesome, like digging in a really great dumpster.
Maybe I'll get around to sharing the day's loot tomorrow. Nitey-nite!

Shop Update
Hello,
There are 2 new bags in the shop! One more is in progress. Then I'll have to take a few days off to work on some teacher stuff before we leave for Oregon on Wednesday. The shop will remain open while we're away!

A New Bag and a Jar of Whimsies
Here is the latest custom bag for my cousin Jessica. I'm very pleased with how this set of bags came out. I've finally got this design down to a science. I have a new design in the works as well, which will have ric rac trim along the edges. YEAH. Also, a bag similar to the one below is listed in the shop. They are both "Ashleigh" bags.
A few weeks ago, I received my Jar of Whimsies from One Good Bumblebee (a seriously fun place to shop). Here is the whole loot:
I've had lots of interest in a resin pendant that I bought on Etsy. So, I think it's time to give it a go. I plan to use these bits in a resin casting project that will begin today:
